Mr.
Sulaiman bin Pg Atok was born on 10 June 1953 in Lahad
Datu, Sabah. He is married to Puan Shamliah Mohd Molud
and they have five children.
Sulaiman
is currently a member of the Sabah United Party (Parti
Bersatu Sabah) Supreme Council and heads the PBS Lahad
Datu Division. He holds a Diploma in Development Administration
from the South Devon College of Arts and Technology,
Torquay, England.
He
started work as a Clerk with the State Treasury Department
in 1975 and was promoted as the Chief Clerk in 1978.
From 1981 until 1995, he served as Assistant Rural
District Officer for Lahad Datu, Nabawan and Keningau.
He was appointed to act on the post of Senior Administrative
Officer in the Keningau District Office from 1989
until 1990.
From
1995 until 1997, he was appointed to act as Assistant
Administrative Officer in the Chief Minister's Department
and from 1997 until 1999 in the Training and Scholarship
Division of the State Establishment Department before
venturing into full-time politics.
For
his contributions to the State, he was awarded the
Bintang Setia Kinabalu (BSK) medal by the Yang diPertua
Negeri Sabah.
