Dr Osman @ Othman Minudin was born on 5 October 1943 in Ranau, Sabah. He is married to Dr Lungkiam Dambul and they have 4 children.

Osman holds a PhD and MSc in Educational Administration, and BA in Geography. He was a teacher and headmaster by background before venturing into full-time politics in 1990.

He was a Nominated Assemblyman from 1989 until 1990 and a MP for Ranau from 1990 until 1995.

For his numerous contributions to the state and country, he was awarded the ADK, ASDK and KMN medal.
