Hon.
Datuk Edward Yong Oui Fah was born on 19 April 1956 in Tenom.
He is married to Wong Siow Lee and they have 3 children.
In
the 10th Sabah General Elections held on 21 March 2004,
Edward won the newly created seat of Tanjung Aru and was
subsequently appointed to the Sabah Cabinet as an Assistant
Minister of Local Government and Housing in March 2004.
In
the 2008 Sabah General Elections, Datuk Edward won the Tanjung
Aru seat and continued to hold the post of Assistant Minister
of Local Government and Housing.
He
is currently one of the Vice President of the Sabah United
Party (Parti Bersatu Sabah) and heads the PBS Tanjong Aru
Division.
Edward
is a professional Civil Engineer by background and is a member
of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia. He holds a MSc and
BSc degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba,
Canada.
For
his numerous contributions to the state, he was awarded the
Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK) medal in 2008 which
carries the title "Datuk" and the Ahli Setia Darjah
Kinabalu (ASDK) in 2007 by the TYT Yang di Pertua Negeri Sabah.
