| SALAM
BERSATU and warm greetings from Sabah, Malaysia.
As
President of Parti Bersatu Sabah, it is my great pleasure
to wish all web users a special welcome to PBS official website.
Parti
Bersatu Sabah, or PBS in short, is a multi-racial political
party based in Sabah. The party was founded in 1985, and presently
has more than 250,000 members. It has 61 regional divisions
(including the Federal Territory of Labuan), consisting of
one division for each State electoral constituency.
PBS
is therefore a large political family and serves its members
through some 2,600 registered branches throughout Sabah.
As
a political party, PBS aspires to safeguard and promote democratic
principles, economic advancement, human rights, justice and
dignity of man.
Our
political struggle is motivated by the sincere vision to create
a progressive, harmonious, united and prosperous Sabah within
the Federation of Malaysia through genuine practice of parliamentary
democracy, dignified political conduct, balanced development
and professional administration.
PBS'
political ideals and ideology are founded on established democratic
principles and universal values, and guided by the Malaysian
and Sabah constitutions, the RUKUNEGARA (national ideology)
and goals of Vision 2020.
In
the ensuing pages of this website, you will be introduced
to a brief political history of PBS, its mission and goals,
line up and profile of senior party leaders, and from time
to time, some recent literature and articles on the party's
policy stand on a wide range of issues.
It
is our aim that this website will serve to enhance web users'
understanding of PBS' political struggle, especially its noble
mission and goals.
We
believe this website will also facilitate a regular intellectual
discourse and exchange of information between web users and
PBS members, especially on public issues that are of central
concern to all of us in our continuous effort to evolve a
truly democratic, just, peaceful and secure world.
In
PBS' true spirit and tradition, I take this opportunity to
extend to you our classic handshake, which is our party's
logo and symbolises unity and friendship.
BERSATU.
