PBS Launches United Klang Valley
Club To Attract Sabahans To Join Party
PETALING
JAYA, Feb 6 (Bernama) -- Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS)
launched the 'United Klang Valley Club' as an approach and
strategy to attract more voters from among Sabahans in the
Klang Valley to join the party.
PBS
president Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan said the establishment
of the club was expected to attract more Sabahans living
in the Klang Valley to contribute their ideas to the party
and to vote for Barisan Nasional in the 13th general election.
"The
objective of the club is to provide an opportunity and space
to Sabahans residing in the Klang Valley to participate
in PBS activities and keep abreast with the party's development's.
"There
are many Sabahans residing in the Klang Valley who show
interest in the struggle of the government through PBS,
as such the setting up of the club is one of the ways to
bring club members and the party closer for mutual exchange
of ideas," he told reporters after launching the club,
here Monday.
Also
present was PBS deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili.
Pairin
said such a club had been established in Johor, and PBS
planned to set up the same in all states in the peninsula
based on the positive reaction and requests from Sabahans.
Pairin
said as a component of Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN), the
establishment of the club could indirectly contribute to
ensuring the well-being of the people in line with the 1Malaysia
concept.
"Through
the club, we can identify the needs of Sabahans and proposals
to the party leadership in resolving issues.
"As
of now, there are 300 club members in Johor and the Klang
Valley and interested Sabahans can register for membership
by downloading the application form from PBS website at
www.pbs-sabah.org," he said.
