Muhyiddin to open LDP and PBS meetings
KOTA
KINABALU, Oct 29, 2011 (The Star) -- Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin
will be in Sabah tomorrow to open the meetings of two state
Barisan Nasional parties.
The
Deputy Prime Minister will fly to Sandakan to launch the
Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) congress in the morning before
opening Parti Bersatu Sabah's (PBS) 26th annual general
assembly in Penampang near here.
In conjunction
with the PBS general assembly, Muhyiddin, in his message,
paid tribute to Sabah's longest serving party for its contribution
to the state's development.
He said
the party's sincerity in turning Sabah into a dynamic and
harmonious developed state was obvious, adding that PBS
had resilient, tolerant and credible leaders.
Muhyiddin
said the PBS leadership had always placed the interest of
Barisan at its highest.
He added
that in order to preserve the long established bond of unity
in the state, it was imperative for all sensitive issues
among Barisan members be handled wisely.
“Under
the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak,
I am fully confident the Government's transformation programme
will take Sabah to greater heights,” he said.
PBS
information chief Datuk Johnny Mositun said party president
Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan would raise issues such as
the Royal Commission of Inquiry on the illegal immigrants
issue, power sharing and land issues in his policy speech.
With
the 13th general election looming, Mositun said delegates
were expected to hotly debate seat allocations.
Muhyiddin
will also attend the Sabah MIC Deepavali open house in Likas
here before returning to Kuala Lumpur in the evening.
