PBS Activates Election Machinery
In 13 State, Four Parliamentary Seats
PENAMPANG,
July 8 (Bernama) -- Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has activated
its election machinery in the party's 13 state and four
parliamentary constituencies in the run-up to the 13th general
election.
The
party would also conduct a dry simulation of the general
election in August or September to ensure its preparedness
for the polls, said PBS deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus
Ongkili, who chaired a special briefing for PBS state assemblymen
and members of parliament, here, today.
He said
this was as a follow-up to the party's supreme council meeting
last Sunday which decided to activate the election machinery
immediately.
"PBS
divisions that are not represented by the party's assemblymen
and MPs have been told to set up their election machinery
to support the respective BN candidates in their constituencies.
"This
is to ensure victory for BN through support and cooperation
among all BN component parties. A well-oiled BN machinery
can guarantee us a win," he said.
Ongkili
also said that one of the measures to ensure an effective
machinery is through the use of ICT facilities.
"A
main operations centre will be set up at the PBS headquarters
to coordinate all information transmitted electronically
from the PBS-held constituencies, which will have their
respective operations centre.
"This
will ensure effective dissemination of information for the
leadership in order to correctly identify problems and solutions
for the ground machinery," he added.
Ongkili
also said that all PBS division chiefs, assemblymen and
MPs had been reminded to continuously go down to the ground
to look into the people's needs and counter the negative
propaganda and baseless attacks by the opposition.
