Henrynus re-appointed as NS panel

-- Former Ranau member of parliament Datuk Henrynus Amin
has been appointed again as the representative for Sabah
bumiputeras in the National Service panel for this year’s
intake. National Service director general Datuk Abdul Hadi
Awang Kechil handed over the letter of appointment to Henrynus
yesterday at 1 Borneo Hypermall.
Abdul Hadi said Henrynus had been serving the panel with
an excellent record over the past five years.
Henrynus will continue his service for another three years.
“The Defence Ministry has considered his commitment to
the panel and he will represent Sabah, together with four
representatives from the government – one from Sarawak and
one each from the Chinese, Malay and Indian communities,”
said Hadi during the handing-over ceremony in conjunction
with the National Service roadshow at 1Borneo Hypermall
yesterday.
According to Hadi, a total of 14,000 youths will be joining
the third batch of National Service throughout the country
starting July 19.
He said they would go through the medical screening within
three weeks to make sure that all of them are healthy and
ready to be trained in the camps.
