Revisit spirit of 1963: PBS Youth
KOTA KINABALU, Apr 19 (The Borneo Post)
-- Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Youth, in welcoming the 1Malaysia
concept of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, hopes
that it would revisit the concept and spirit of the establishment
of Malaysia in 1963.
PBS Youth chief Datuk Jahid Jahim said among the matters
agreed to at that time was the security of Sabah.
He said security problems have touched on the feelings
of the people, particularly such matters as the influx of
illegal immigrants, citizenship, forged documents and the
lack of uniformity in the prices of essential goods nationwide.
“It is the aspiration of the people of Sabah, especially
the young generation, that there be serious, concrete and
consistent action to resolve these problems,” he said.
Jahid, who is Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports, appealed
to the federal government to redouble efforts to resolve
the problem of illegal immigrants in Sabah.
“When this happens, the 1Malaysia concept will really take
root in the hearts of the people of Sabah, and Malaysia
will become a nation full of hope for the future generations,”
he said.
