Pairin denies inviting Jeffrey back to PBS

KOTA KINABALU, Oct 5 (The Borneo Post) -- Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president Datuk Joseph Pairin Kitingan denied that he would invite his younger brother Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, who is also Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice president, to return to PBS.

“He is with another political party now and not with Barisan Nasional. It is clear where he wants to be.

“Therefore, I think nobody can persuade anybody to go anywhere they do not want to be.

“So, as far as we are concerned, this should no longer be a matter of speculation because we all know where he is and where he wants to be,” he told reporters at the PBS Hari Raya open house here yesterday.

He was asked what PBS’ stand was on the matter.

Pairin, who is also Sabah Deputy Chief Minister, said that should Jeffrey wish to return to PBS, Jeffrey would have to submit his application and go through the relevant screening like every new applicant.
