Allowance hike for JKKK members, assures Pairin

SIPITANG, August 26 (Daily Express) -- Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Joseph Pairin Kitingan assured of an increase in allowance for members of the Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) soon.

"The JKKK members will enjoy an increased allowance soon, as accorded to other community leaders," he said while closing an economic development planning course at the State Library branch here.

Pairin, who is also Rural Development Minister, also assured that the Government would continue to focus on poverty eradication efforts under the 9th Malaysia Plan.

In this respect, he urged the rural communities to participate in the various development programmes planned by the Government with a resolution to improve their living standard, by working closely with the various government departments and agencies.
