Gets Memorandum On Filipino Illegal Immigrants in Sabah
PUTRAJAYA, April 26 (New Sabah Times) -- Parti Bersatu
Sabah (PBS) has presented a memorandum on Filipino illegal
immigrants
in
Sabah to
the
Prime Minister.
PBS president Datuk Joseph Pairin Kitingan who led a group
of leaders to visit Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in
his office on Tuesday said that the visit was also to give
their undivided support to the leadership.
“We come and visit the Prime Minister as we have not met
for a long time and we also want to state our full support
for his leadership.
“At the same time, we also wanted to present to him a
memorandum on how to address the illegal immigrant’s issue
and the resettlement areas for refugees in Sabah,” said
Pairin who is also a Deputy Chief Minister and Rural Development
Minister.
Pairin who presented a his handwritten letter endorsing
the party’s full support for Abdullah was accompanied by
his party deputies comprising Minister in the Chief Minister’s
Department Datuk Dr Maximus Johnity Ongkili, State Resource
and IT Development Minister Datuk Dr. Yee Moh Chai and
Datuk Pg AK Aliuddin Mohd Tahir.
Also in the entourage were Assistant Minister to the Chief
Minister Datuk Radin Malleh (PBS secretary-general), Finance
Ministry political secretary Datuk Michael Asang (vice
president), Assistant Youth and Sports Minister Jahid Jahim
(Youth chief), Rural Development Ministry political secretary,
Daniel Kinsik (assistant secretary general), Johnny Mositun
(information chief), Datin Jamilah Sulaiman (wanita chief)
and Dr Chong Eng Leong (supreme council member).
During the 75-minute
meet, Pairin also presented a proposal to Abdullah in
bringing about rural development with regard
to bridge building in Sabah with the help from the British
Government via Mabey & Johnson.
Pairin stated that PBS was ready with its election machinery
to ensure a BN victory in the general elections.
Abdullah in thanking PBS for its role in strengthening
the Sabah government said that the federal government wanted
to stress the importance of unity among all races.
On poverty eradication, the Prime Minister said that the
government did not choose any race or religion in eradicating
poverty in the country.
