Screening
of Sri Tanjung residents' forms stalled
KOTA KINABALU, March 17 (New Sabah Times)
-- The Rural Development Ministry is still unable to settle
the screening process of about 2,238 forms containing the
details of Sri Tanjung resident’s near here.
This was due
to the delay on the part of the National Registration Department
(NRD) to screen all the forms, said Deputy Chief Minister,
Datuk Pairin Kitingan during a press conference held on
the matter yesterday.
Pairin, who is
also the Rural Development Minister told that the forms
contained data’s collected by the City Hall from February
10 to February 12, this year.
“The 2,238 forms
were then submitted to the NRD,” he said.
However, yesterday,
NRD sent the ministry a letter informing the Sri Tanjung
Screening Committee that they haven’t completed the screening
process on all the names of residents submitted to them,
he said.
“But they promised
that the screening would be completed soon. So we are hoping
that by next week, they would be able to complete the screening
of all the names,” he said.
Pairin added
that once they get they get the screening resluts from NRD,
they will conduct another meeting before the matter is brought
before the Cabinet.
He also
informed that the houses built for the qualified residents
will be completed this coming May.
