Pairin Urges Sabah Folk To Rally Behind Abdullah

TAMBUNAN, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president Datuk Seri Joseph Pairin Kitingan has called on the people of Sabah to support the Barisan Nasional (BN) under the leadership Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in the next general election to continue to enjoy the fruit of development.

He said the Prime Minister's sincerity in developing the nation, including Sabah, was evident from various programs like the Sabah Development Corridor, the Ninth Malaysia Plan and the 2008 budget.

"I've been thinking deeply on what we should do on behalf of the people and we decided to give full commitment and choose the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi so that we can enjoy the good things for our future," he said at a meet-the-people session at the Tambunan Community Hall here last night.

Pairin, who is also Deputy Chief Minister, asked the people not to be easily influenced by the sweet talk of the opposition and instead to rally behind Abdullah to ensure continued development and prosperity.
