It's up to Pairin
KOTA KINABALU, Nov 5 (Daily Express) ---
Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) MP Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai is fully
behind the stand of party president Datuk Seri Joseph Pairin
Kitingan on the issue of seats and candidacy for the coming
general election.
"We
all know the Barisan Nasional (BN) principle that is the
issue of candidacy will be decided by the respective BN
leaders and as far as PBS is concerned it will depend on
Pairin," he said.
Met
after officiating at the Sutera Harbour Resort Associates
graduation ceremony here, Sunday, Dr Yee who is also a PBS
Deputy President, was asked if he had made up his mind on
which seat he would be keep come the next election.
Currently,
Dr Yee is the MP for Kota Kinabalu as well as the Assemblyman
for Api-Api and he is among three BN leaders in Sabah -
all from PBS - having the privilege of holding two seats.
The
two others are Pairin (Keningau MP and Tambunan Assemblyman)
and Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili (Kota Marudu MP and Tandek
Assemblyman).
According
to Dr Yee, the question on the particular issue had already
been answered by Pairin before.
Pairin
had been reported as saying that the issue would be dealt
with when the time comes and that he considered it as a
good strategy to keep the opponents guessing who would be
the candidate for the particular seats.
Meanwhile,
Dr Yee who is also State Resources Development and Information
Technology Minister, commended Sutera Harbour Resort for
the inaugural graduation ceremony of 30 candidates.
He said
the State Government welcomed the move by the private sector
like Sutera Harbour to assist in the development of human
capital, particularly in important sector such as tourism.
The
30 staff of Sutera Harbour Resort received their Diploma
in International Tourism and Hospitality Management from
University of Newcastle, USA under its Project FUTURE.
Project
FUTURE is aimed at effective succession planning, which
enables an organisation to identify talented employees and
provide education to develop them for future, higher level
and broader responsibilities.
Special
award was also handed to top performing student Tracy Lim
as Student of Excellence, while three students received
Certificates of Merit namely Krijah Naidu A/P Sundara Rajoo,
Annie Johnny and Carolyn F. Isidore.
Another
30 staff had been accepted for the second batch to go for
the one-year training.
Also
on hand were Sutera Harbour Resort chairman, Tan Sri Ahmad
Kamil Jaafar, Sutera Harbour Resort president, Datuk Edward
Ong, University of New Castle, USA Academic Director, Prof
Dr Gopala Krishnan, resort executive committee and parents.
