I
will defend seat: Pairin
KENINGAU, August 5 (Daily Express) -- Parti
Bersatu Sabah (PBS) President, Datuk Seri Joseph Pairin
Kitingan, affirmed that he will defend his Keningau Parliamentary
seat in the coming election.
"Don't listen
to rumours being spread by irresponsible people," he
said when closing a course on local economy development
planning for Interior Upper here Thursday.
He said he had
never stated that he would be handing over the seat to his
son to represent the Barisan Nasional (BN).
Pairin who is
Deputy Chief Minister cum Rural Development Minister hoped
BN leaders here would be able to come and meet him personally
to discuss on the allocation issue for the Parliamentary
constituency.
He assured that
as the MP, he had never been biased in the distribution
of his Parliamentary Fund to the various component parties
here.
Meanwhile, Pairin
urged the local community leaders, especially JKKKs to "turun
padang" to help in the poverty eradication programme
as well as cooperate with the Government for the successful
implementation of the Ninth Malaysia Plan.
At the same time,
he hoped the people here would also give full support to
the BN Government.
