PBS
pledges cooperation to retain Sulaman
TUARAN, March 3 (Daily Express) -- Parti
Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Sulaman branch said it will give its
firmest co-operation to Barisan Nasional (BN) component
parties in the constituency, particularly Umno, to ensure
its candidate retained the Sulaman State seat in the coming
general election.
Its deputy chief
Jemson Kundai Bakod said PBS Sulaman is mobilising its election
machinery in line with the party President Datuk Seri Joseph
Pairin Kitingan's directive.
Pairin had said
that the election machinery should be mobilised early so
that they could assist other component parties in the election.
Jemson, in response,
said the BN's strength lies in cooperation among the component
parties.
"Even though
we need some attention, particularly pertaining to the power-sharing
concept, it is not a big problem for PBS here to support
the Umno candidate in Sulaman in the next election,"
he said during a dinner with the Dusun Lotud leadership.
He said they
have full confidence in the leadership of Datuk Hajiji Noor,
who is also Local Government and Housing Minister-cum-Tuaran
Umno chief, to provide fair and just treatment to all component
parties in Tuaran.
On other developments,
he said most of the issues raised by the opposition, particularly
on illegal immigrants, could only be resolved by the Government.
Jemson said even
though the illegal immigrant issue might take some time
to resolve, the Government would find a solution to it.
"As for
PBS and the Dusun Lotuds in Sulaman, we wish to thank Hajiji
for his concern for our needs as well as problems,"
he said.
In this respect,
he urged PBS members in the constituency to give their full
support to Hajiji to continue leading the community in Sulaman.
Hajiji was also
present during the event held at Mimpian Jadi Resort.
