KOTA
KINABALU: PBS Supreme Council Member Dr Chong Eng
Leong
Thursday
lauded the statement by Papar MP Rosnah Shirlin that drastic
State-Federal approaches are needed to tackle the continued
flow of illegal immigrants and so-called refugees into Sabah.
"This
shows that Sabah UMNO is starting to respond to other State
BN Components' repeated calls to address this issue. Perhaps
it is not too late to salvage our beloved Sabah from further
decay into oblivion by the ever increasing number of foreigners
in Sabah, especially with Sabah UMNO's assistance,"
he said.
Rosnah
made the call in support of Penampang MP Donald Mojuntin's
statement on the issue.
She
had concurred with him on the need for the Government to
review its policy on the IMM13 holders or so-called refugees
as well as immigration issues which had been raised many
times in Parliament and local newspapers.
Calling
on all Sabah MPs and Senators to be united in one voice,
Dr Chong said they should plead this concern in every parliamentary
sitting. "After all there is nothing more noble than
protecting our sovereignity," he added.
