KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS)
Friday denied news reports in several Chinese dailies on
Wednesday that its Karamunting division has been suspended.
Its Secretary-General
Datuk Radin Malleh, in a statement, said the party's Supreme
Council never made such a decision.
In this respect,
he described the claims made by certain quarters claiming
to be members of PBS Karamunting division as being "irresponsible"
and warned that action can be taken against members who
commit acts which are likely to be detrimental to the interest
of the party.
He reminded all
party members to refrain from bringing up internal party
problems to the media but use proper channels within the
party to find solutions.
"Party members
should abide by the provision of the party constitution
under Article 15(ix) whereby any press statement must have
the prior approval of the President or Secretary-General,"
he said.
Meanwhile, Radin
also appealed to the media to first verify with him or the
party headquarters before running any news relating to the
party.
