PENAMPANG: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) President
Datuk Seri Joseph Pairin Kitingan is confident the time
will come when there is balanced distribution of power and
opportunities among Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties.
"The
Prime Minister had stated that the Government will not exempt
anybody from benefits but everybody must also accept the
fact that nobody gets everything and nobody is left empty
handed, either. All will be getting a fair deal based on
justice".
Speaking
when launching the PBS Moyog division annual general meeting
at the Tampasak hall in Babagon, Sunday, Pairin who is also
Deputy Chief Minister, noted that the present steps and
actions taken by the Prime Minister were in line with aspirations
of the party's struggle.
This
was reflected with the extra focus on the development of
Sabah and Sarawak in the Ninth Malaysia Plan, similar to
the attention given to the Orang Asli community in the peninsula.
"We
need to find ways and coordinate to penetrate whatever obstacles
in order to produce results that we can share and enjoy
in the future," he said. He added that as an experienced
party, PBS had shown its sincerity from all aspects in ensuring
the party's leadership would not run away from the original
struggle.
He said
PBS also has an important role in bringing certain changes,
especially in expediting the development equilibrium in
Sabah, Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia.
Meanwhile,
he said PBS currently was gathering information from all
divisions on the appointments in the government administration
to give the real picture to the higher authorities for further
action.
"While
we are giving attention on this, hopes and desires will
run highÉthere are also a lot of problems but the
leadership is always keeping an eye and listening to all
these to be taken into consideration when discussing it,"
he said.
Pairin
commended the people in Moyog for their undaunted support
to the PBS' struggle. PBS Moyog division chief, John Cryso
Masabal, said although the party was not representing Moyog
in the State Assembly it is not a deterrence to work together
with other component parties in resolving the people's problems.
In LABUAN,
PBS Supreme Council member, Johnny Mositun, believed the
party would be able to contribute towards the people's development,
especially with the existing close cooperation from the
Labuan MP.
Speaking
at the PBS Labuan AGM, Saturday, he called on the division
to continue ensuring the strong ties between the component
parties.
Peter
Mak was returned as the divisional chief at the AGM.
