KOTA KINABALU: Unity among the races in
Sabah will help strengthen Malaysia to face the challenges
of globalisation, Resources Development and Information
Technology Minister, Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai, said Friday.
He said
unity must be seen and functioning at all levels starting
from the family.
"Racial
unity is crucial in the interest of the country's future
and everyone needs to do their part to ensure unity exists
at all levels. This will enable us to tackle any challenge
of globalisation together," he said.
He said
although there were occasional stumbling blocks, none was
serious enough to deter the efforts to create a caring,
progressive and united society.
There
are over 32 ethnic groups and races living in Sabah, including
the Kadazandusun, Murut, Bajau and Chinese.
