Its Secretary-General, Datuk Radin Malleh,
said PBS would give the Prime Minister all the cooperation
he needed.
"PBS would like to put on record that
we will give full and solid support to the Prime Minister's
stand on the issue of good quality leadership, minimising
bureaucracy and eliminating corruption in the Government,"
he said in a statement Monday.
Radin said that although Abdullah's stand
on leadership by example was not new, it was worthy to note
that restating the philosophy formulated by Abdullah's predecessor
Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, only showed how determined the
Prime Minister was to take the nation to greater heights.
Abdullah's philosophical approach in calling
for cooperation from all levels of society was timely and
a sincere request, he said.
"I said it is philosophical because
it is a simple approach but very meaningful, especially
when the Prime Minister said he was not expecting to be
served but he expected all the leaders and the people at
large to work with him for the further betterment of our
beloved nation," said Radin.
