Tambunan: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) members and supporters must truly understand the reasons as well as advantages of the party’s readmission into the Barisan Nasional (BN) fold.

“As patriotic and responsible Malaysians, we must realise the significance of understanding and co-operation in rectification of circumstances to ensure the future of Sabahans,” said party President Datuk Joseph Pairin Kitingan.

“It cannot be denied that the re-entry of PBS into BN has positively affected the nation’s economy and security,” he said in his speech at the PBS Tambunan Division annual general meeting here.

Pairin, who is also the divisional chief here, stressed that members even at the kampung level have the responsibility to see the party’s goal achieved.

He also expressed appreciation to the people in the district, particularly PBS members and supporters, for their support given to him as Tambunan Assemblyman.

“I really need the support and strength from all of you to continue to struggle and fight for the party,” he said, adding that he also needs full back-up from the party’s leadership to steer PBS to its destiny.

In this respect, Pairin advised party leaders at the branch or kampung level to continue to work hard for the party.
