KOTA
KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) will give full support
to the new State Cabinet line-up.
“It was
only a minor reshuffle,” said PBS deputy president Datuk Dr
Maximus Ongkili told reporters after attending the swearing
in ceremony of the new State Cabinet members at Istana Negeri
here yesterday.
“The Chief
Minister had called us in for consultation and given that
the state election will be held within the next 12 months,
we have agreed to concentrate at the grassroots’ level to
prepare for the election,” he said.
Dr Maximus
said the party leadership had explained to the grassroots
who were disappointed that the party was not represented in
the Cabinet and advised them to be calm and patient.
“Their
expectations were high but we have advised them to concentrate
on the impending election after which we will get our real
network as the second largest party in Sabah,” he said.
He said
PBS was focusing on mobilising its election machinery at the
grassroots level as a preparation to help Barisan Nasional
(BN) to win all seats in the next state election.
