RADIN
: FAILURE OF THE REGULARISATION PROGRAMME
KOTA
MARUDU, TUE - The Parti Bersatu Sabah questioned today the state
Barisan National government under Yong Teck Lee’s leadership on
the so-called success of the Regularisation programme as related
by Datuk Sari Tan recently as one of the eight achievements of the
out going Chief Minister.
Its
Secretary General, Encik Radin Malleh speaking at the PBS Tandek
Division annual general meeting said that Yong Teck Lee took pride
of the Regularisation programme but why is it that there are still
a lot of foreigners and illegal immigrants walking around all over
the state freely. These foreigners and illegal immigrants even become
hawkers in the sunday tamus in various districts and also clothes
vendors going round the villages, added Encik Radin Malleh. More
so these foreigners and illegal immigrants built their squarters
colonies all over the place without being taken any actions by the
BN state government as they are staying illegally, said Encik Radin
Malleh adding that he remembered in Keningau in the Melalap constituency
that there is a squarters colony where foreigners live in had named
it as kampung Makmuran just because these foreigners were working
at the Makmuran timbermill. Though this kampung is not gazetted
but the Election Commission has made it as one of the election localities,
said Encik Radin Malleh.
"Why
are there foreigners and illegal immigrants were allowed to build
their squarters colonies all over the places in the state like mushrooms
when the natives at kampung Matabian had their houses bulldozed
though they have stayed there for more than 20 years, " questioned
Encik Radin Malleh. Encik Radin Malleh said that Yong Teck Lee should
enlighten the people of the followings:-
-

of origin still staying in Sabah.
-
How many of them were registered in the Regularisation programme.

How many of them were not registered and why are they not sent
back to their countries of origin.
-
How many illegal immigrants according to their countries of origin
were sent back so far since the Regularisation programme ended
on 31 August 1997.
-
Why there is an inaction of BN state government on illegal squarters
colonies by the illegal immigrants.
