Young and dynamic

KUALA LUMPUR, June 27 (The Star) -- A TOTAL of 235 students graduated at The Otomotif College’s (TOC) third annual graduation ceremony held at the Shangri-la Hotel, Kuala Lumpur recently.

They received their scrolls from Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Johnity Ongkili, who was guest of honour at the event.

“I am very happy to be here today to see these young and energetic students graduating, to see their parents and family members beaming with pride.

“The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation is proud to be a part of your success and hope that you will be successful in your future undertakings and thus, contribute positively to our nation’s growth and advancement, particularly in the field of automotive technology,” said Dr Ongkili in his speech.

The college’s principal Aripin Harun remarked that although the institution was relatively “young”, it was dynamic in ideas and innovations.

“We are able to be a boutique college by focusing on programmes that are related to the automotive industry, set high delivery and competency standards, operate a business-like instructional management, and is also the first college in this region to offer a diploma-level motorsports technology programme,” he said.

At the ceremony, Dr Ongkili also presented trophies to five winners of the college’s Outstanding Achievers award.

Also present at the ceremony was the college’s CEO and founder Adelaine Foo.
