BN still has the best proven record

KOTA KINABALU, Oct 3 (Daily Express) -- Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili said Barisan Nasional (BN) may have some weaknesses and needs reinventing but it still has the best proven record as a caring and people-oriented government.

"The temporary political bed-partnership of Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, Parti Keadilan Rakyat and DAP is unproven in their service to the people," said Dr Maximus.

Speaking after inspecting the relocation site of the villagers affected by the Milau Dam project in Kampung Nongkul, Kudat, he said it was obvious that the opposition merely know how to complain.

"But they offer no decent solution to the problems faced by the rakyat," said the Marudu Member of Parliament.

About 10 villages were affected by the construction of the RM230 million Milau Dam at the Kudat and Matunggong boundary.

The project, which commenced construction in 2005, would serve as reservoir to supply water to Kudat and parts of northern Matunggong.

Also present were Matunggong Assemblyman Sarapin Magana, Assistant District Officer Arnold Joibi, People's Development Leader Madjin Maginda and Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Matunggong Youth chief Marius Masain.
