Sabah Christians urged to remain calm
KOTA KINABALU, Jan 9 (The Borneo Post)
-- Another Sabahan leader has urged Christians in the state
to remain calm in the wake of the fire bomb attacks on four
churches in Peninsular Malaysia.Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS)
vice-president Datuk Herbert Timbon Lagadan in his appeal
said it was his fervent hope that Sabahans would instead,
continue to be steadfast in prayer to seek divine favour
for continuous peace and harmony in the nation.
“In light of the latest development in West Malaysia, every
Malaysian must restrain from acting out based on their emotion.
“We must not forget that we have just celebrated Christmas
which proclaim good tidings and peace on earth,” the assistant
Community Service and Consumer Affairs Minister said.
Herbert, who is also Kadamaian assemblyman said instead
of reacting emotionally, Christians should start fasting
and praying for continued unity.
Christianity, he said, preaches love, peace and unity among
mankind which is very much in tandem with the concept of
1Malaysia.
