Respect decision: Pairin

KOTA KINABALU, May 6 (The Daily Express) -- PARTI Bersatu Sabah (PBS) President Datuk Seri Joseph Pairin Kitingan said peninsula-based Gerakan joining the State Cabinet with the position of Deputy Chief Minister through Datuk Raymond Tan is the latter's choice and should be respected irrespective of whatever the feelings.

He said whether they are disappointed or in favour of the Tanjung Papat Assemblyman's decision, the choice had been made.

He said the "past is past" and component parties in the Barisan Nasional (BN) have to respect Tan's decision.

"(But it is also) up to the people to analyse (what had transpired) and their perception, among others É these must be taken into consideration also," he said, adding it was only natural for people to question Tan's position in the State Cabinet.
