Indecisive attitude hurts people, says PBS man

KOTA KINABALU, May 5 (The Borneo Post) -- The declaration by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Raymond Tan Shu Kiah to remain in Barisan Nasional (BN) by joining another component party is plausible and a respectable act, said Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) vice-youth chief Shui Phing Chung.

Shui however said the indecisiveness of Raymond in holding the Deputy Chief Minister cum Infrastructure Minister post for the last eight months and without any political affiliation within BN, has caused a lot of apprehensions and unnecessary political animosity to other BN component parties.

“Datuk Raymond should have submitted his resignation letter and left his ministerial post the moment he was rendered partyless instead of staying on his post on the pretext that the Chief Minister (Datuk Seri Musa Aman) has rejected his resignation.

“Raymond claiming himself being responsible and sincere and therefore should not be hurt is irrelevant. His very action to stay on the cabinet post for such a long time has showed how irresponsible, insincere, unprincipled, unfair and has cause hurt to the people,” he said yesterday.

Shui call Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman to review Raymond’s cabinet position despite his decision to remain in BN through a component party.

“We hereby call on him (Raymond) to resign immediately to prove that he is not power crazy and a man of dignity,” he said, adding that Raymond must go back to basic like PBS when rejoining BN and to prove his worth at the grass root level first before taking up a cabinet post.

“How can he perform without the people’s respect? His long indecisiveness has already revealed what a week leader he is,” said Shui.

He further said that BN Sabah will be stronger without the unprincipled and politicians like Raymond and if he is being retained in the State Cabinet without any support from other BN component parties will just bring bad reputation to Sabah’s politic.
