PBS condemns PR's plan to form govt
Kudat, Sep 7 (Daily Express) -- Parti Bersatu
Sabah (PBS) on Saturday condemned the plan by Pakatan Rakyat
to form a government by enticing elected BN representatives
to cross over to the opposition.
PBS Deputy President Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili said such
a move by the opposition would be shameful, unethical and
downright dangerous because it would create political chaos
and economic strife in the country.
Speaking while opening the annual general meeting of PBS
Banggi and Tanjung Kapor divisions here, he said the people
should reject the dirty politics propagated by the opposition
and erase the notion that elected politicians in Malaysia
can be "bought and sold for a pot of political porridge."
Ongkili who is also Minister of Science, Technology and
Innovation reiterated that the strong mandate given to Barisan
Nasional by the people in the last general election must
be respected and honoured by all.
"Why is Pakatan so insistent in promoting the formation
of a government of unprincipled politicians? Do we want
this country to be governed by 'frog' legislators who will
surely mortgage the rights of the people?," he asked.
Ongkili called on the government to take stern action against
irresponsible leaders who created fear and public disorder
by spreading political lies, adding "the Sedition Act
and even ISA should be used against such culprits."
