Piped
water soon for Kg Bulu Silou folks
KENINGAU, February 5 (Daily Express) --
Residents of Kg Bulu Silou can look forward to piped water
soon after a water gravity system was approved by Deputy
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Joseph Pairin Kitingan.
While
on a visit to the village, some two kilometres from here
on Saturday, Pairin, who is also the MP for Keningau was
told of the water problems faced by the people there.
After
listening to their pleas, Pairin said he would approve the
request, adding that the district office would fix the site
of the gravity system and the costs.
The
village had already been connected with water pipes by the
Water Department but because of low pressure, the villagers
could not be guaranteed a regular supply.
At the
function on Saturday Pairin met people from several villages
that come under the Patikang voting district.
Pairin
also officiated the road connecting Kg Audon and Kg Bulu
Siou, as well as a sepak takraw court – both projects utilised
money from the MP’s fund.
Later
Pairin also approved various small requests.
He approved
a contribution of 100 plastic chairs for the Kg Patikang
Ulu, Patikang Laut, Bulu Silou and Bakiau balai raya.
Kg Kadalakan
JKKK received a grass cutting machine while families at
Agudon got cooking utensils.
Meanwhile,
PBS Liawan chairman, Robert Ungkau denied reports that some
250 members had defected to Parti Keadilan Rakyat.
